hi emrn!
i can log in on ecas, too. we got the sponsor approval 10am(Victoria time) Dec 2 and I can already log in using the client ID.Although , I still dont understand what's written in there, lol.

edit: i just figured it out ;)

Hi SandJ we got approval nov 9 but only the sponsor can log-in to ecas :(

I think only my husband, who is the sponsor, has a client ID. We logged in with his info and the client ID, which starts with R. I did not try to log in with my info. I don't think it will work if I tried.

I called CIC phone number about the Ecas change (correct postal code changed into an incorrect one last Friday) and they advised to send a fax or email to the Berlin VO. They provided me with the fax number and the email address. I guess we will send an email tonight. I want that wrong postal code gone, before they send mail to it! ???

I am the sponsor and in the email to me (the approval email)
they had given me

1. Client Number (same as my PR card client Number)
2. UCI number (same as my PR card client Number but without dash)
3. File number starting with F

I also noted that my Surname also includes middle name in the ECAS (before I used to try only with my surname)

I tried to login with the same UCI / FIle number but with my wife DOB
could not.

I think my wife cannot check anything since she has not yet got any communication.

As far as Medical is concerned

Please read below (read this as a fiction story of holly wood movie, the following may sound logical but may not be true)

- The DMP in India sent one directly to CHC-ND (my VO Visa office Canadian High Comission New Delhi)
- I attached a copy of the Medical given by the DMP to my wife in the PR application (I think this is mandatory since it is asked n the checklist)

I think now when they say "Medicals" have been received it can be any thing like

- CPC-M is finshes the approval and now starts checking the PR applicants (second set) files also and finds the medical. (however shouldnt they rely more on the one sent by DMP instead of one sent by me?)

OR

- CPC-M has approved the sponsorship and now it is the person who "names" this case by generating a File number and starting the database for us. In this process os starting a file for is in the database CPC-M has checked or uploaded the Global Case Management System (GCMS)for onward processing to VO. At that time maybe there is an operation in which they link my wife medical received by CHC-ND to this application.

(My wife did medicals in August and the DMP sent the medical to the CHC-ND (the VO) then. At that time sine we not yet applied there is no reference number, or client number, or any ID. So my wife medical might have been entered in the GCMS by the VO and the ID would have been my
- My wife Name
- Surname
- Date of birth
- Passport Number

It would have been just stored in the system "hanging like a scrap piece of paper on the fridge" by the above ID.

When the Sponsorship application is processed in CPC-M, they search for the Medical in the GCMS using my wife name, DOB, pass port etc. When thier search results display the one sent by the DMP then they compare with the copy which I had sent.

Voila! there it is they found the Medicals, now they ATTACH (or link) that medicals to my wife PR application electronically.

That is why CPC-M says "Medicals have been received"
Who is saying "medicals have been received"? is it CPC-M or the Visa office?
The probability of the Visa office saying is less because still the application is with CPC-M.
Assuming even if they sent the application electronically to my VO. Are they so fast to respond "Medicals Received"????

So it can be safely concluded that CPC-M says "Medicals have been received" and not the VO
It is also probable that CPC-M will say that only if our spouse medicals is uploaded in the GCMS by our VO back home.
They dont want to say something based on "what you send" but they want to say based on "what they received".

So there might be people who are not able to see "Medicals are received"
it might be due to
- The medical has not been sent by the DMP to your VO in your home country
-The medical has not been entered in to the GCMS by your VO so far
- The medical has been entered by your VO in the GCMS but CPC-M could not find it (see, this is the case where you would have sent a medical copy but they will not say "medicals received" because they want to see that in the system here in Canada"

What might happen.

The file is started process at your VO. If already the "medicals have been received" status has been updated then they work on others. If it is not mentioned then they will go and open thier draws and cup boards and try to find it (I am sure they have a good file keeping system). If they dont find it with them maybe they will contact the DMP. If the DMP says "noo no no I have sent it to you.." then they may say "Sorry guys, we screwed it up, can you do your medicals again?" (I am not frightenng you, happens maybe very very rarely)

If Surname includes middle name also then how do you enter in Ecas ?

MIDDLENAMESURNAME ?

MIDDLENAME SURNAME?

Plz let me know the correct way to enter?

We are not able to login to Ecas?

I tried different combinations but was unsuccessful :(

@kanadiga

I tried different ways as well, then I gave up and called the call centre and he told me the combination (name) to put in, and I was able to log in!

I called CIC this morning, and they told me that the sponsored person gets a file number from the Visa Office, and we won't have that until we are contacted by them... I am confused, I know there are a few people out there that are being sponsored that have access to e-cas, anyone can share how they can access e-cas if you are the person being sponsored?

for me i receieved a letter so there are 2 ids.. one is uci and one is for application id/immigration id.. so both of them i can access on ecas.. but if i use uci (i used my hubby(sponsor) information bday to birthplace) but if i used application id (i used my information(applicant) bday 2 birthplace) but the name is the surname of hubby which i used also bec. that what i used now when i married to him..

but no medical receiveed yet :(
