Hi, I am sponsoring my mother who has long been separated in fact from our father. We do not know his whereabouts . Guide 5772 says that IMM 5669 shall be filled out by the spouse of the principal applicant , accompanying or not. How will we submit our father's IMM5669 when we do not know where he is? Please help as the application may be treated as incomplete if we commit error. Thanks a lot guys for any help.

Unless she has legally separated, with the paperwork to prove it, expect an uphill struggle with IRCC regarding a non-accompanying spouse and the medical examination / background checks.metoo888 said:
She can try to include a notarized affidavit that she is separated from her husband, he is unable to be located or do medicals, and she fully understands that not including him as a spouse excludes him from ever being sponsored in the future. It will also be easier if you meet the income requirements for family size including your father, even though you want him excluded from the app. So CIC will not think you are trying to exclude him simply for income qualifying.
Thanks Rob. Do you suggest we still fill out 5669 and 5406 even if incomplete information and unsigned by our non-accompanying father and then attach the affidavit? Or we no longer submit the forms and merely submit the affidavit and letters of explanation in lieu of the forms? Thanks and waiting for your suggestion. Yo have been of help.
