Hi all,
I was sponsored by my ex-partner under civil union partnership to BC last year in June, we separated a few months after that. She has two children before our union, who were also sponsored to Canada around the same time. Do we need to sign a separation agreement? I do not reside in Canada now and no longer wish to go there. However, I do wish to study and perhaps seek residence status in another country with my current partner. If I am to apply for PR for this other country, do I need a separation agreement to acknowledge that my ex and I are separated? If I do, do I need to hire a lawyer to do this?
This tricky little question has puzzled me for a while, I wish someone here can help me. Many thanks.
