Sent original documents to CIC? -_-

I sent my original USA birth certificate & our marriage certificate to the CIC not realizing they wouldn't be returned. How can I get these back?

Wondering if you had any success in getting your original documents back, and if so, how long it took. I have been waiting over 5 months for mine and CIC keeps ignoring my e-mails...

Did they ask you specifically for originals? It isn't required to send originals of the marriage and birth certificate. It's a moot point now though. Hopefully, they'll return your documents, but I think it's just as likely that they won't.

They asked me specifically for most of my wife's original documents include birth certificate, marriage certificate, education documents, etc.

I really need these back and I even went to the MP and he requested them twice, and we still have not received them. I am scared that they lost them.

If they specifically asked for them then there's probably a good chance that at some point you'll get them back. Is there any way you could apply for another copy of her birth certificate and your marriage certificate just in case?

There probably is a way but not easy for me unless I go back to her country, and it won't be timely.

I am just wondering why CIC will not return these even after asking them multiple times, it being over 5 months and even MP asking. I was thinking of maybe going a step higher than MP to help me, but do not know who else I could contact. Any idea?
