I am a Canadian in Canada and sent out my sponsorship application about a month ago to sponsor my Mexician wife who is still in mexico I have not heard anything yet. Does anyone know how I would find out where its at I sent it express post and it arrivied there but I have no idea what to do I tried phoning but as soon as I m on hold to talk to an operator it says they are all busy and than it disconnects my call. I don t want to keep calling cause it takes about 5 mins to get to that point of being put on hold than I get disconnected and told to phone back later. I don t have a client number what do I do??????

They will send you a letter. The file sits and waits for more than a month after it arrives before anyone opens it, so your wait is normal.
The current wait time for outland spousal sponsorships is 48 days in Canada, and then they send the application to the visa office.

give yourself another 2 weeks ok and have patience as CIC takes its time to go through your forms to check if everything is ok, One thing i have heard is once they recieve your application they chack and review it and after 2 - 3 weeks if you dont get it back, then it means is all good and just waiting to be give a file number and everything after maybe 5- 6 weeks.
in this case you are ok if it is a month..
