Sent my application to wrong department?

Hi,

I am temporary resident with a work permit. I recently applied to change my conditions and/or status to student to Vegreville, as I had been accepted at a community college for January 2012.

I was wondering, if I sent my application to the Work Permit unit, instead of the Study Permit unit, would that be a problem for me? And if it was sent to the wrong department, would it be delayed in terms of when the application should initially be processed?
