Sent in Photocopy of IELTS by mistake!

Hello,

I just realized that I sent it a photocopy of my IELTS result (instead of original) for my file (I applied in September 2012).

Can I send in my original IELTS result explaining that I submitted copy by mistake or they would ask for it?

Seniors, please help!!!!

You should call CIC and get instructions from them.
Since you have not reached the stage where you will received an AOR, hence you don't have a file name = your original document will be lost.

Call CIC and receive guidance from them.
 
I received my AOR in October 2012 and recently sent in addition documents (for my spouse) but dint realize I submitted photocopy of IELTS until I read a thread here.

Thanks I will contact them and see what they tell me to do!

PS: I am so worried I will get rejected because of one photocopy IELTS result
 
Guys, there is no need to worry. Call CIC and speak to them first.
 
This might be a dumb question but I have never contacted CIC by calling them, would they be able to answer based on file?

I normally always email CPP-O if I have query. I have also emailed my lawyer, though I doubt she will reply until monday >:( so worried!

They usually have no info on the file unless some decision is made. Better option is to email them and see what needs to be done . you ll have to wait till monday anyways so wait and see what your lawyer says. This should have been handled by your lawyer in the first place if you have one

What are you waiting for ? Not sure what do you want to know calling the CIC call centre ? The requirement is for you to submit IELTS original scorecard. Aug 2012 are getting their MRs. So next is Sep 2012. If you delay, you could be in trouble.

Send your original IELTS result with a covering letter asap. Highlight the date and that it is the original copy. Let the VO not get confused if you cleared IELTS after submitting your package. We should understand that every case is new for VO. So don't expect the VO handling your file to know everything beforehand.
 
Do not expect the VO to call for a specific doc. They are free to take a call and decide on your application based on the docs on file. The onus is on you to make sure you submit all the docs as per requirement.

Better hurry up and send the originals or your application could be rejected. Write a quick note explaining your mistake and attach the original results to that letter.

Hello everyone,

Thanks so much... I am off to post office now... Will send it through express courier and hopefully will be there by tom or tuesday morning!
I sent my spouse's documents two weeks ago so I am hoping that would have delayed my file and my ielts result get their in time!
I am just hoping they havent opened my file yet!

Also, should I try to get GCMS notes after i send my ielts just to make see whats happening and if they have opened ny file?

Good luck pari_p. Just out of interest, did you have a lawyer put together your application? If so it seems like a pretty big mistake on their behalf. Fingers crossed buddy!
 
Hi,

I had university lawyer (which are free of charge for current students).

Everything except my PCC and IELTS results were in so they just put together the file and told me to mail it once I had PCC and IELTS in, so it was mistake on my part that I put photocopy of IELTs instead of Original! Thankfully I put the original for PCC.

Thanks I really need luck now. Hopefully they dint open my file yet!!

Send it in ASAP but don't worry too much about it. TRF's serial number is verifiable online (https://ielts.ucles.org.uk/ielts-trf/index.jsp) by authorized organizations (including CIC) so even if someone sends in a copy they can still verify authenticity.
