Sent a wrong return envelope for PP stamping: Please help :((

Hi,

Can anyone please help me here!! Here is my situation....I received PP request on June 20th and my PP reached LA office via UPS express mail on June 21st. I wrongly put a UPS express return envelope instead of USPS as indicated on the website. Been Been 11 days today i have not heard back anything from the LA consulate and my travel date is approaching.I am really worried now. I have few Questions

1. Will LA office send me an email as soon as they dispatch the PP? Else how will i know where are my PP right now?
2. Will my PP now come via USPS regular mail? I am aware that there is no tracking ID for regular mails.


Has anyone had a similar experience? Please share and advise what should i do now? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar experience if not worse (New York office), I forgot to put a return envelope. They sent it to me by regular mail in a water proof envelope.

Sounds Good...but my concern is how will i know if the PP are already out of the LA office? Applicants whose PP reached LA office later than me got it already via USPS express?Do they send email saying they have dispatched it? And did u receive the PP in your post box of your apt or was delivered at home? Thanks a bunch for your reply. It really helps!

When did some of your batch mates receive their PP?No they will not send you a notice that they have dispatched it. Honestly I was just surprised that my passport was in my mailbox. And they sent it directly to my house. But only because mail comes directly to my house. If you have a post box, they will treat is a regular mail and it most likely be in the postbox.

The applicants sharing a similar timeline as of mine submitted their PP at LA office on June 24th(mine is June 21st) and they got it by June 28th via USPS Express. And yes i have a post box so may be i should expect it in my post box box only. Do you have an idea if i can authorize someone to pick up PP on my behalf. If yes, what form am i suppose to fill? I live Portand, so can send a scanned copy of authorization letter to my representative?

I think it is probably just stuck in a post office somewhere waiting to be delivered and you should just relax and wait for it. give it maybe 1 or 2 more business days.And then contact the office. Or if you are that worried contact them now. Up to you!

Did you read their web site? Probably not.

"Passports and original documents will no longer be returned in-person. All passports and documents will be returned by mail. Refer to the Mailing Instructions.
The visa office is open to the public Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 9:00 am to 10:00 am."

Hi Thumsup, did u get the passport? I have same situation for the London office. its been 12 working days now and I haven't head anything.
