ru in canada and not enrolled in an institution?if so u may be in trouble...
"As of June 1, 2014, all study permit holders in Canada will need to actively pursue studies. This means that:

if you hold a study permit, you must remain enrolled and make reasonable and timely progress towards completing your program; and
failing to do so could lead to your removal from Canada.

Your educational institution will report to CIC on your continued enrolment and academic status. You may also be asked by an immigration officer to provide evidence of your continued enrolment and academic status."

No - you can't work part time. You must be attending school if you want to work. Since you aren't attending school it's illegal for you to work.

Also, if you stop attending school for more than 90 days your study permit will be automatically canceled. So you have that problem to deal with as well if your courses don't start for another six months.

i have ask many students here who had gone through this thing they say its ur right to change university before or after coming to canada but the thing is u cant work in between the gap :)
and thing is also clearly written on CIC website that if u change u college or university it should be a designated learning institution and u just have to inform CIC about changing ur institution..

i dont know if ur getting the point..if u change the institution u still have to satisfy all other requirements of study permit....u will violate study permit rules by staying in canada without being enrolled even though u can change ur institution. so if u stay in canada waiting for 6 months u may lose ur study permit as ur not enrolled. yes u can change institution but u need to be enrolled not just have an admission letter.

yes but ur not enrolled so u shouldnt be in canada ....meaning if i get study permit and change university and the new university starts in 3 years i cannot stay in canada for 3 years.....u will lose ur study permit in 3 months if u do so. just to give u an idea why the rule was introduced . before the rule came up people used to get study permit and come to canada and quit studies and start working illegally . so to avoid that situation CIC has introduced this new rule. u may face problems later so be careful.

Looks like one thing is missing and that's "actual registration" which is different that selecting courses, paying tuition or admission confirmation. As per new rules, you must remain "enrolled (registered)" until the cows come home.

Hello

Sir what i am trying to say is that after getting my study permit i didnt go to my university once and on the other hand i got admission in other university after landing here in canada.
and the 90 days rule which is written on CIC website is A study permit becomes invalid 90 days following the completion of studies unless the foreign national also possesses a valid work permit or another authorization to remain in Canada.

this is what i think will happen .....ur first university will report to CIC that u did not join them.....now the question is will the second university report to CIC u joined them? if they do then they will say u start in 6 moths. this will make u a in violation of the rule of being enrolled. if the second university does not report to CIC ur again in violation of the rule. do u see the problem? u need to take up some classes/ be enrolled in these 6 months to stay legal.

No - that's not what the rules say. You need to read them again as you're going to be in violation of the 90 day rule and may run into issues if CIC realizes you're in Canada but not studying.
