Leon,

Thanks for your reply, I have looked at the application form and there is no column/field wgere we can say about our future planes (here in my case to get married soon), in that case how I am going to inform them about my marriege planes and if so why they will put my case on shelf (as I still have 4 months to get married).

Do you really think I should postpon my application filing?

You were the one who brought up that you wanted to inform them that you were going to get married next year. You can do that if you want to. I don't know what they would do if you did but I think it likely that if you apply and tell them you are getting married in 4 months that they will just shelf your file until you get married and send in the documents to update.

Do what you think is best. I don't think it matters either way.

Thanks for your advise Leon,

I will consider all the possible ways before I decide something, I came with idea to inform them about my plans after you advised as :

Whatever you do, if you apply for PR right now as a single and get your PR visa before you get married, make sure you update with CIC as soon as you get married and add her to your file or tell them you are planning to get married because otherwise they may think you are cheating somehow and bar you from sponsoring wife later. They may even give you problems if you marry "too soon" after getting PR saying that you should have informed them of your plans.

well in either case it will take as same time I guess, I think I should apply in january end, give ielts, send documents when asked for, get married add my wife to application and wait for further processing.

Well Leon I will try to do what i feel is best for me, But I would appriciate if you can suggest something. I don't want to wait till getting married because of current recession and also we can't be sure what they will do with the current next rules.

Awaiting reply

If I were you, I would apply now, and add spouse as soon as feasible.

I believe you can always bring your wife in other visa or open work permits to Canada once you become a permanent resident if it comes to that you were not able to add your souse during the permanent residency application.

You can apply now and you don't have to tell them now that you will get married whenever. You just have to inform them as soon as you do.

You have to be really careful in case you already have your PR visa by the time you are getting married that you tell them as soon as you get married.

Do NOT fall into the trap of thinking that it will delay your application to add your wife (which it will) and get tempted to land as a single and sponsor her later. If you land as a single after you are already married and don't tell them, you forfeit the right to ever sponsor your wife. So if you can't add her to your application, either delay the marriage until after you've landed or if you marry her before you land, tell them by mail and fax as well as when you land.

Leon,

Thanks for your reply, Well I think right way is as you said, I should apply for my visa now (I am thinking about Jan End), then complete IELTS, in march/april I will go to India n get married, then I can add my wife to the application. In no way I want to go to Canada alone or delay my marriage :)

Please comment,
Thanks
