Seniors,

I just need some input from you guys regarding the letter of reference that I submitted with my package. I'm yet to receive AOR but I was wondering should I add another updated reference letter. I applied under 2171 which is notoriously a broad category. Therefore, I would like someone to proof read the D&R and suggest me whether it's absolutely necessary that I go about submitting an updated reference letter. I work as Associate Consultant at [COMPANY NAME] Information Systems Inc. The following are the D&R:

  • Support lead consultants responsible for the design, implementation, and roll out of [COMPANY NAME] software, mainly in the United States and Canada
  • Other responsibilities include assisting in formulating and defining system scope
  • Preparing design documentation
  • Configuration, testing, and debugging of [COMPANY NAME] products
  • Consulting with users and other IT professionals to develop business processes or resolve program issues
  • Providing technical and process solutions required during supply chain management implementations.

There is no "associate consultant" as per NOC. You need to specify role not the designation. The duties won't match.

This NOC has these roles... BAs, Security Analysts, QA Analysts & Systems auditors...Associate consultant doesn't fall under any of these.

I disagree with that. Your NOC code should match with duties and responsibilities and it has nothing to do with titles/designations/positions. It's practically impossible for HRSDC to list all the positions. Sorry to interject .. But I've verified this quite a few times . Most of all, associate consultant means Junior Consultant which is nothing but basically a Consultant . Example thread:

Incorrect. The focus is the duties NOT the title.

As long as the duties match, you will be fine.
