Seniors, need your advice

Hi, I am planning to apply for FSW 0631 (Restaurant Manager). I am already in the process of completing the requirements. However, I am having a hard time to decide which VO will I choose. Scenario is, I am here in Australia on a temporary visa coz my wife is studying here. I gained my experience as restaurant manager back home in my country (Manila,Philippines) for 3 years. Currently, I am working here in a restaurant as a cook since it's very hard to apply here as a restaurant manager without local experience. I need advice, which VO will I choose. Is it Sydney, Australia VO or Manila VO? I am just worried that if I will choose Sydney Australia as my VO, they might be confused which occupation am I nominating. OR do I really need to choose Manila VO since there is where I obtained my experience which I will nominate. PLEASE HELP. TIA!

Hi, if you are resident of Australia for a period of One year or more and still like to continue there till you get the PR visa to Canada, you can choose Sydney as VO. But considering your occupation I suggest you choose Manila which would be better.

You always have two choices. To choose the country's VO that you are residing now or the VO of a country that you have resided for at least a year. In both cases you must somehow prove that you reside in your chosen location legally.

We had also 2 options and we chose the one that seemed to us that would process our application faster as it services less and smaller countries. Of course there is no guarantee for that, but that is how we thought of it

Thanks for all who responded! I want to choose Sydney VO, since I'm planning to stay here after I got the results of my application. However, I read on other threads that processing times in that VO is too slow compared to other small countries like in my country Manila, Philippines. Is it true? Same as what you have said Vangelis21.

Anyway, Ill consult my partner to come up with a decision. Heaps of thanks!

We were also in a dilemma. We could choose between Italy and Russia. Italy has less candidates and less populated countries to service but obviously less staff! Russia will probably have many more applications to process but maybe with much more stuff processing it. Oh well, it all comes down to luck in the end i think!

Sure, Vangelis21!!. It was in my mind when I started reading your post and at the end you told the same thing ... it is the luck. No one knows about the future. Sometimes all the guess or predictions could be wrong. It is the fate or exactly the luck!!.

that's certain. I have read here about people getting their visa in 4 years and others in 5 months!
