I am a chartered accountant in Nigeria, i have tried on several occasions to obtain a bank draft in Canadian dollars to no avail. all the banks i consulted in Nigeria will only give a draft in either euros, pounds or us dollars.
i saw recent changes in the cic website regarding payments which indicated that the visa offices can now receive payment for application in us dollars.
how do i go about this, am i to go to the visa office with the bank draft in us dollars, pay, obtain receipt and foreword, with my application to the CIO in sydney or am i to mail the draft to the visa office and mail application separately to CIO.
please your urgent contributions will be appreciated.

@ Neddy:

I can see you're leaning towards going the US$ > Accra route. The main reason no one has been able to validate this is because its a new system, no one has done it yet, and there appears to be very scant info on it. True, CiC site says applicants struggling to get CAN$ from few countries(Accra Office included) may pay in US$ to Accra - but what happens afterwards? The Accra site is very silent on this. Do they mail the receipts back to you?, and how? email? Courier? or the pretty hopeless regular mail they've been using? I know they have attempted to get a way round can$ obstacle, but this isn't the way to do it. They haven't provided enough information, and it seems pretty untidy to me.

I wouldn't go this route unless i have a very good understanding of the procedure. If you have the necessary info, and you think its workable, you may just push on with it.

I read in another post of yours, that you got duped by ieps... Can you throw a lil bit more light on this pls? I know a few who got their PRs through the man, and they were mostly OK with the services they got. Maybe one or two propective applicants may learn from your ordeal if you share it on here. OMG!, a quick google check has just revealed that the man has passed on... . May his soul RIP. I can see some agony for some of his clients with his passing on...
