My immigration is in process, London office has asked me to submit original educational certificates. Can any one advice me is it safe to send. Any history of misplacing original educational documents by Immigration Office?

Humbly await guidance...

Thanks and regards,

I think it depends on the visa office whether they give things back or not.... If the educational certificates are from a university it really shouldn't be difficult to order another transcript (transcripts say whether degree or program was completed so it's probably your best bet than sending the actual degree etc...) but if it's from an elementary or highschool then I guess it all depends whether u can obtain another one from the school... but really, if this is what CIC is asking for to complete your application, send it! You'll probably get it back, since they know they're asking for the original, and if not, u can probably pay a small fee and get another one from the educational institution.

Thank you very much for your reply, yes the documents I am sending to immigration office London can be obtained again with little effort.

If you have expertise in immigration to Canada affairs, may i request you to send me your e.mail address, I want to discuss few other matters as well?

Warm regards,

It does depend on the Visa office I believe. Just make sure to keep copies of anything you send. My office did return all original documents to me, including pictures, but I know not all the offices do.

Thank you , I am doing it.

However, I had applied to London Visa Office in August 2011, they acknowledged in Sep. 2011 but i did not see the mail. They asked for additional documents in Jan 2011, I missed the mail as it was in junk, they assessed on the basis of already sent documents and sent refusal, however, allowing me to send any further information necessary to be considered with certain time. Luckily last mail I was able to see. I checked with Regina office who is also of the opinion that I can send the same documents asked for in Jan's letter within this time period. Hope it is true...don't know what is going to happen....

Now I am sending them the required documents, could you share any such experience...

Regards,

Dear think23,

could you please comment on my two replies??

Regards,

Hi,

I am by no means an expert in any of this! and I have no experience with a refusal or anything for that matter when it comes to immigration. I am still waiting to be approved as sponsor for my husband.

Sometimes it's to assess identity and if they are who they say they are, say if someone has a late birth registration, they often use baptismal certificates or school records, or other things to assess the identity.
