Hey all,

I need to send my application for inland before the 16th (so I am still eligible for the fast tracked open work visa), but I will be missing a few original items.

I have scanned police certs from Australia, but I will not receive the originals in time to send them off with the package.
I have also requested friends/family to get Stat Declarations from notarys of our relationship, but some may struggle to get them on time. They have though wirtten letters and signed them.

Am I able to send off the package with what I have, have it received, but then send in the original Police Certs when I receive them in a couple of weeks/and stat dec letters?

Will this slow down my process? I assume once they receive it, it will just be sent to a pile for a few weeks anyway.

Hi,

Let me try and straighten a couple of things out for you.

1. From your previous posts it becomes evident that your status expires in March 2017. If so, you have plenty of time to apply for the OWP since the program which was due to terminate on Dec. 22 has now been extended for another year. This means you can take a reasonable amount of time to gather your documents and apply.

2. CIC recently announced some major changes to the family class sponsorship program. I strongly recommend you read more about it first and then proceed with your application. Read here: http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=1166069&_ga=1.62624234.759964742.1480179485

Thanks so much.

I just read the new notice from CIC about this. It gives us a bit of time to make sure the application organised.

My only concern is, if we send the application in January, when we have originals, the OWP will not be approved in time by the end of my IEC Visa on March 19, and I will have to stop working for a few weeks. The current processing time is 12 weeks according to the CIC website.

From my understanding, IEC visas can not be extended, so do not come under the "Implied" umbrella when people normally apply for the OWP.

You can find the details about the current OWP processing times from the Inland spreadsheet. (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Yn3BFzI4q4xAy4EW3pG4CgQz9o3EzF5b18_tcSJwBhA/edit#gid=658237024)

As per the spreadsheet, its taking about ~110 days for people to get the OWP in their hands. Some who were able to link the application to MyCIC noted that it takes ~6 days after approval for them to actually receive the OWP in mail meaning the processing part takes ~104 days on average.

Hi,
Was searching through and saw this thread and wanted to leave a reply because this situation applies to myself and my husband. I agree with your point #2 however I can find no information anywhere stating the OWP "pilot program" has been extended past December 22. Do you have a source on this?
