Hey guys,
I have a question that hopefully someone can answer/has experience with. We applied back in January (I'm American, he's Canadian) when we were living in New Zealand. We are now in Australia and plan on traveling for a few months while we wait for approval. We expect - fingers crossed! - that we'll be approved in a few months. My question is, if we are approved before spending 6 months in Australia, but land in Canada AFTER spending more than 6 months here, do we still need to send a police record from Aus?

Does that make sense? To break it down:
-We came to Australia March 9th
-Hoping to be approved July/August (looking at current approval times)
-Will land in Canada end of November
-We'll hit the 6-months-in-Australia mark on September 9th - if approved, do we need to send a police check from Australia?

Thanks!

If you are in Australia for 6 months BEFORE you get your COPR and approval, then CIC can ask that you submit a PCC from Australia. If they do this, it will put your application on hold until it is submitted.

Thanks Alurra!

So basically, once we get our COPR we don't need to worry about sending any more info? Even if we stay in Australia more than 6 months - once we're approved, we're approved?

Correct. Once you have your COPR that is it. All you need to worry about at that point is ensuring you land before it expires.
