Hello

When sending proof of wedding expenses and documents like receipts, airplane boarding passes and marriage certificates, do you send the original documents? Also, does anyone know if the entire file gets mailed back after everything is approved and the PR is given?

Thanks!

We did not include original documents in our applications except the forms and police checks. Only photocopies. We did send an original wedding invitation. Some people's documents are sent back and some are not. We didn't want to take the chance.

Thanks for letting me know. But don't they want the original documents? If you give photocopies, don't you need to get them attested by a lawyer indicating that they are copies of the original document?

It may depend on the visa office, but I think that only applies to translations of documents that are not in English or French. You should check your region-specific guide. What is your visa office?
