Do you know the day that the application arrived at th addres? If you know the date, then I would try to call cic call centre with the date and tell them it is an Outland application and that it was accidentally sent to the inland address.

I hope they keep the applications in their dated pile because, I think the only way they will be able to locate the application is to search for it through their piles of things.

If they won't look for it, then I think you will have to wait for them to actually get to your application and open it, checking the documents, and assigning a UCI number. This would be concerning because, since you sent it to the inland address, the wait time for first stage sponsor approval is 12 months. There is no way that you want to wait that long for them to get to the application! I'd think the faster you contact them the better, but there isn't any guarantee they will locate it for you.

I'm sure, throughout the years that this has happened many many times, so hopefully someone with experience with this will let you know how it worked for them.

Maybe there is a protocol that senior members are aware of when a mistake like this is made. Good luck.

inland applicants are being opened well before the 12 month mark. it's currently taking 4-5 months for them to receive AOR. It's still not a timeline you want to be waiting to know it got put it in the wrong pile. did the mailing envelope have outland spousal pr written on it? perhaps when it's delivered, they will transfer it internally if it's clearly marked on the outside? i can't imagine this is the first time this has happened, and they probably have some sort of guideline to follow when any package is delivered. perhaps part of it is confirming it actually belongs there? this is all speculation of course... not sure what the best course of action is in this situation.

Hi Everyone, I'm in the same situation and I'm very worried about the timing of the whole process now.
We sent the application on October 2015 and just realised that it was sent wrongly to Inland department. Called CIC and they said when Inland department open the letter, they will pass it back to the right department. But I'm worried that means the last few months of waiting is a waste and delay of processing of my application until the time when they pass it back to the right department.
May I know if it happened to you guys who had such experience before?

Thanks a lot.

Hi, that happened to me in my first application. I send it to wrong address. And fortunately my application was received to were it is supposed to go. I even mailed it as regular mail.
Just hope and pray that it will go to the right place just like mine. :)
