Selling property in India after becoming Canadian Citizen

Hi,

I have a property in India (Karnataka) and planning to sell it. I am a Canadian citizen now and would like to give Power of Attorney (to my dad) to do the sale.
Has anybody did POA recently in Canada (after becoming Canadian citizen) and gone through the property sale process.
