Selling Car After Landing

Hello,

I landed in Aug, 2015 and I imported my 2002 Pont. Grand Am at that time. It is now not in good condition and we are looking at buying a new car. However, you are not supposed to sell/dispose of anything with in 12 months of Landing since I imported it under the "New Resident - Personal Use" act, so if I do get rid of it, I need to pay the duty for it, BUT according to CBA, cars older than 10 years usually are not charged Duty, so I wouldn't have owed duty or taxes anyways.

Has any body had any experience with selling their old car after importing it within the 12 month period? ???

i would call the CBSA and ask: 1-800-461-9999, then select 1 then 0 to talk to an agent.
