Self Employment for US company

Hello all,

I recently received my PR status (hooray!), which gives me the ability to work here! My company in the US has graciously offered to let me work remote on a permanent basis, but I need to switch to being a contractor so they don't have to set up a Canadian office, etc. Is there any special paperwork I need to do and/or permits I need to acquire to start up my own 'business'? Or can I just have them pay me directly as a contractor?
