Hi!
We're right at the end of the application-creating process, but I just thought of something I should clear up before I send it in. For the outland app, it asks about me, the sponsor, and my job situation. There are the boxes for Unemployed, Employed, and Self-Employed.
I have a full-time job at a local company, so I chose Employed. So far so good.
However, they also ask how much money you made in the twelve months preceding the application. Between August and now, I've made about $1200 doing some art for some friends who are working on a project. I signed a contract with them outlining that I'd be paid x per piece, the date by which everything needed to be done (which therefore indicates this isn't going to be an ongoing thing), etc. and I've got proper invoices for everything, since I'll be including it in my taxes.
Naturally, though, this amount is going to end up in my 12-month total. I was going to include copies of this stuff with the sponsorship form in question.
Do I need to check "self-employed" in addition to "employed"? I'm not really a freelancer or anything. I draw as a hobby and my friends needed additional art for their project, so they paid me to do some as sort of a one-off thing. This is absolutely not how I usually make money and I won't be continuing to do so after this project is finished.
I'm not really sure what to do.
Could I include the invoices and write an explanation without checking "Self-Employed", or..?
EDIT: I've added another question in one of my replies.
