Greetings to all,

I am very concern about my application for FSW. I am collecting informations towards this and i need more help from this forum and really looking forward to have your opinion. I am a Temporary Foreign worker here in Canada and took the self-assessment test from CIC website and got this points:

Education -20
Language ability- 20
Work experience - 15
Age. - 10
Arranged Employment- 10
Adaptability- 10
Total. = 85points

My concern here is , though i got this points i don't want to be confident i just want to make sure that i will be approve to the process. As i got 20points for Language Ability(IELTS) equavalent to band score 6, i am worried about this because as immigration need 6.5 band (if i'm not mistaken). In addition, my NOC is 0631 and do i still have to take the IELTS exam again or not anymore? Is my points enough? :-[ :-[ :-[

With a 6.0 band score, I highly doubt that you can have those 20 points you mentioned. let me know!

Me too, that's what it came out when i took the self-assessment test on CIC website..as my listenning is 5.5(moderate), reading is 5.5(moderate), speaking is 7.0(high), writing is 6.5(high) as the First language.. I'm very confused actually...

Do you have any French language abilities?

Alexchrist,

I'm afraid not...but i'm not residing in Quebec or Montreal so i don't think i need french..

My friend your language points are 12 pts (S=4:L=2:R=2:W=4)
since you can just get up to 16 points on english language.
if you did french test (TEF) you can have more points (up to 8 )

My friend LH84, you think i should do that or take the IELTS for the second time? I'm more confused now but i really appreciate your opinion.

Just calculate ur score again. That gives u a total 77 points . The minimum score required is 67 points. Again overall score in IELTS could be highlighted by some visa officers according to the profession you work.

That's what i was thinking also, as i am reading all the experiences and thoughts in this forum and putting them toegther really helps a lot. i just want make sure of my decisions..i thank you for your very helpful information.

Here is how you score on language:

16 Points for ENGLISH. (if that is your choosen first language)
To claim points you need to take IELTS and score appropriate bands.

Check this for IELTS bands VS Score;
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0fFm3-vfkE8/TeyHA9i4oZI/AAAAAAAABQs/BCi_Thltcvg/s400/IELTS+score+for+Canadian+Immigration.jpg

Now if someone knows French (Second language), they can claim Further 8 Points.
To claim the points they need to appear in Designated French language evaluation test, and will be give points as per score.

As you said that you have not taken any French test as you are not familiar with the French language, your points based on your IELTS are 12.

As for trouble with low IELTS, yes that can happen. So try to improve your IELTS score if you have time.

Best of Luck.

I recommend u take the IELTS test again....until you achieve 7.5 or higher in listening and 6.5 or above in others.

CIO is very strict now-a-days,the no. of applns they are receiving they are always looking for cases where they could reject.

Plz dear dont take a chance......in terms of overall points I think u doing gud...all the best

Thank you so much guys for the concern, it makes sense to me now and that i should not take chances.
I'll keep you guys posted!

Best of luck to all of us..

My bro.
you can definitely apply for FSW as you have 77 points. even if your ielts total is band 6.
and if all other claimed points are true your application will be most likely approved without any problem.

Keep in mind that you had to improve your english, so keep watching english channels and log in to different forums to practice english.
and whenever your application is brought forward you'll be ready for any interview or even if they ask you for higher marks.

best wishes.

You can apply as you get min of 77 points which is more than needed 67 points.
