Hi all,

I am filling the application for EOI and had a doubt pertaining to which occupation I should select as my primary occupation.

My work history comprises of 3 jobs :

mid 2011 to end of 2013 as an Analyst at a Bank (2.4 years) - NOC 1112 (Financial and Investment Analyst)

2014 - As a senior consultant in one of the big 4 (8months) - NOC 1122 (Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management)

Mid 2015 till Date - As a Senior SAP consultant (Treasury) (1 Year) - NOC 2171 or NOC 1122 I think i can use either

Can somebody please answer my below questions ?

Since my highest work experience is in NOC 1112, can I use that as my Primary Occupation ? To get maximum points under FSW

Is it necessary to use current job only as the Primary Occupation ??

Can we make any changes to NOC post submitting the application ?

Thanks in advance

If more than 1 NOC applies to you, you can choose whichever you prefer.
You need at least 1 continuous year of full-time work experience in your primary NOC to be eligible. All your other work experience can be in other NOCs (as long as they are skill level A, B, or O).
So whichever NOC you choose out of those you mentioned above, you will receive the same number of points.

Is it necessary to use current job only as the Primary Occupation ??
No.

You do not choose which NOC is your primary until after you receive ITA.
Once you submit your post-ITA application, you can change your primary NOC, but it it involves sending a CSE.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that score for the FSW programme is based on the 'no of years of experience' in the Primary occupation. So I thought that i should be selecting the occupation with maximum experience as primary occupation

Got 2 questions -

I have 10 + years experience in Corp Sales Mgmt which includes Admin Mgmt. For this job I used the Corp Sales Mgmt NOC.
I also have 1 year experience in a solely Admin Mgmt position which I used the Admin Services Mgr NOC.
I also listed my primary NOC as Admin Services in my EE profile. And in the OINP profile under - intended job in Ontario.

1) Based on experience in this forum, do you see my primary NOC being a problem with CIC as I only have 1 year in that NOC and 10 years in the Sales NOC?

2) For the primary NOC, there is a question on the EE profile, how long have you been qualified to practice/work in this field? Is it that you list since you have started working in that area or is it since you have gotten a degree/qualification in that area (as in work and get the degree during so let us say I worked there for 10 years and got my degree 5 years after I should only put 5 years qualified)?

3) I am awaiting nomination for OINP. Is it that after I get an ITA I have to restate my primary NOC in my PR application and can change it then? And if so, would that contradict my points/OINP application as misrepresentation?

Thanks!

No, that won't be a problem.

If, for example, you finished your degree in 2005, and this qualified you to work in Admin Mgmt, but instead you got a job in Corp Sales, then you will say that you became qualified in 2005.
If your experience in Corp Sales somehow contributed to your qualification to work in Admin Mgmt, and you weren't qualified to work in Admin Mgmt before you worked in Corp Sales, then you list the time you finished the first job.

3) I am awaiting nomination for OINP. Is it that after I get an ITA I have to restate my primary NOC in my PR application and can change it then? And if so, would that contradict my points/OINP application as misrepresentation?
Once you get ITA, you will have to restate your NOC, but you cannot change it.

Thanks!
