Hi Guys,

I hope someone here would have some information on the transit visa situation while travelling from India to Canada.

I would like to know if i'd need a transit visa for Frankfurt and London if my flight has a transit via both Frankfurt and London? One of the travel agents I asked says I would need one as I'm transitting through 2 European countries.

Appreciate any help.

Cheers!
Sandeep

Thanks Coolguy2010!

Would that be true even if I'm going India --> Frankfurt --> London --> Canada? There are 2 transits in Europe on the same day and transit is less than 4hrs in each of them.

I'm wondering why the travel agent thinks we need a transit visa if we transit 2 countries in Europe even though one of them is not part of Schengen area.. getting mixed answers.. :(

Yes ,u need to have a schangen visa for Frankfurt.London you need to have transit visa also.
as i said before i am in process with British Airways for this reason.
why dont you contact the air lines respectively .because when you gone board the flight they will not allow you may be you get away in Frankfurt. but Heathrow no chance. Hope before you take decision to go without transit visa .You do your home work well.
any ways best of luck.

Depending on our nationality/citizenship, you may not need a transit visa as your Canadian immigration visa / PR card might do instead.
Check the transit visa requirements on the websites of the German and UK embassies in your country.

Of course, if you need to get out of the terminal to catch your connecting flight, leave the transit zone, you must have a valid tourist visa!

Thanks guys! Appreciate all the response.

@ajay93:
You don't need a Schengen visa if transiting only one Schengen state, Frankfurt.

I believe I do not need any transit visa even though I'm transiting 2 European countries, Frankfurt and London on my way to Canada due to the following reasons:

1. London is not part of the Schengen area.
2. I'm not going outside the airport, both in Frankfurt and Heathrow.
3. Guessing, I don't have to go through immigration at those airports to take the connecting flight.
