Seeking Guidance

Hello.

My wife and I have started exploring the process of immigration and are uncertain about a best path. Here are a few specifics:

We are interested in PEI.

Me: Age 43 with Bachelors and Masters degree and been working for 15 years in professional/management type job.

Wife: Age 34 with Bachelors Degree. She worked for 10 years as a Marketing Director, but has been sort of an independent marketing consultant over the last year while she manages a mural painting business. She has been offered a position that she could do remotely (anywhere) that would meet the minimum salary for self-employed, but I was not sure if the offer of self-employment would be applicable since it is from a company in the US.

I believe we both have strong English skills, though have not officially tested yet.

I am trying to determine if we are best to seek EE with both of us submitting a separate application or if there is anything that we could do with her art skills or possibly self-employment offer.

Unfortunately neither of us have any family or connections to help our application. Neither of us have worked in Canada or have a job offer from within. My guess is we would need PNP for any hope.

I am sure I am missing details, but again we are very new to this process.

Thank you!

All provinces except Ontario require a job offer. Ontario hasn't opened up it's quota this year. Last year, the cut off was 400. Take language tests and calculate your CRS. If you and your wife get clb 9 or more then that would bump up your score. I would suggest making your wife as the principal applicant as she is much younger than you and would score higher than you in the age factor but you have a masters degree while she doesnt. Play around with the CRS calculator and see where you stand.

@xpressentry, your answer is not entirely true because I know of province like Saskatchewan and Manitoba which does not require job offer letter. I got nomination from Saskatchewan without job offer.

Right now none are open. We have to wait until they open.

Thank you all for the replies. I feel that we have not yet reached the starting gate, but am encouraged to know that we seem to be on the right track.

Our approach will be to have our credentials evaluated and for both of us to sit for IELTS. While we take these steps, will start seeking employment opportunities.

Thank you for feedback and I want to wish others best of success.
