Seeking Guidance for Visa Reapplication



Hello seniors and experts, I trust this message finds you well. I am reaching out to seek your valuable assistance and guidance in light of my recent visa application challenges.

Unfortunately, my visit visa application was declined in December 2022, citing the following reasons: 1) Insufficient financial assets, 2) Inconsistent purpose of visit, and 3) Lack of significant family ties back home.

I am preparing to reapply, and I have taken specific measures to address the previously highlighted concerns. I have included the following documents to strengthen my application:

1. Updated bank statement reflecting a more substantial balance.

2. A detailed purpose of visit statement outlining my travel itinerary and emphasizing familial ties, particularly with my parents back home.

3. Two letters of invitation from my brothers-in-law.



Questions:

1. I would greatly appreciate your insights on whether there are any additional documents I should consider including, with a particular focus on the shortcomings of my prior application.

2. as I intend to reside at my relatives' house during my visit, do I have to book hotel and add hotel booking in the visa application?

You should show proof of ties such as evidence of employment and property ownership. You do not need to book a hotel but makes sure you can show you have sufficient funds saved.

1. Updated bank statement reflecting a more substantial balance. - Make sure that your funds are enough to cover your length of visit, and have enough left over without using all savings.

2. A detailed purpose of visit statement outlining my travel itinerary and emphasizing familial ties, particularly with my parents back home. Family ties if you are over 22 are spouse and children. Ties to return are not parents. So really focus on economic ties to return such as job letter with approved leave, school registration/tuition paid, business, income properties etc.

3. Two letters of invitation from my brothers-in-law. Why can’t your sister invite you who is a family member? Clearly outline why you are coming to Canada.

If you have had an increase in savings you should be able to justify how you suddenly have more savings. Does the savings amount reflect potential savings from your employment? Even though you may be planning on staying with family during your visit there have been issues with family arguments where family no longer agree to provide housing which is why you typically have to show that you’d be able to pay for a hotel if necessary. It sounds like there are concerns that you are attempting to remain in Canada and try and secure employment. If that is your plan it is actually quite difficult to do this unless you have specific skills that are needed in Canada. It is hard for younger single family members to secure a TRV because their lack of savings and ties to their home country. Do your parents have a visa or permit to come to Canada? If they do that also creates concerns that the goal is for all the family to be in Canada at the same time. Do you have other siblings and if so where do they live? As mentioned before the invitation letter should really come from your family member. Your BIL can co-sign the letter.

One more question please. Who is the preferred primary applicant for the visa application, I or my spouse?

Both my brothers-in-law reside in Canada, they will give us invitation letters. While designating my spouse as the primary applicant could strengthen the proof of relationship, but most financial documents are in my name. My spouse is a homemaker. Last time we put my spouse as primary applicant, that application was rejected. Though this issue was not mentioned in notes as a specific reason for rejection.

You can be the primary applicant. Brothers in law can still write invitation letters. Spouse needs to show reasons to return.
