Eligibility and Security are totally independent, you got remedical to keep your status as eligible. While on the other hand, it is normal to be eligible before being sent to security.

Dont worry remedicals are generally requested when everything is passed.

Hi
shri_canada
I ordered GCMS in September and on page Eligibility, Criminality and Medicals are passed and security is redacted, with S15(1) written at the corner. Further in security activities 1-9 are redacted.
Does that mean I am under security screening?

If you obtain Gcms Notes from IRCC security is always redacted when it's in progress or even when it's completed. Most security checks are done within 1 month; longer up to 1 to 2 years if in enhanced screening. On the other hand if you request Gcms Notes from CBSA it has relatively more details about security and the security status is only redacted when it's completed. Here is the online version of the CBSA security screening manual https://cbsa-screening-manual.gcmsnotes.com/?page=1

Hello @caipsnotes @legalfalcon please help.

I had ordered CBSA notes yesterday and got this email from them.
" Please confirm the type of information you are requesting. For example: travel history, GCMS or immigration file."
Which option should I choose

If you are requesting the processing details, then it will be the GCMS notes. If your application is for a family sponsorship, then you will have to specify if you need the GCMS notes for the sponsored person or the person being sponsored (immigration file.)

It is to find out whether I am in security screening or not

So in this context, it will be the GCMS notes rite?

In your case you would want to specify the electronic notes from the GCMS system. Unlike IRCC, CBSA does not have a set of options to select from so you have to write in free form what you are looking for. Furthermore, if you are not limited to just one file; i.e. if you want your Gcms Notes as well as the Travel History report then you can ask for both in a single request.

Yes, and also specify immigration file.
Hello. I have received my CBSA notes. Unfortunately, I am under security screening (A34) and file was sent to CBSA and CSIS on 20th July, 2020.
After that there is no new activity, neither any correspondence (nothing shown in notes)
However, in gcms there is due date 23-01-2021. Does this due date have any significance?
Further, when should I call IRCC to get some update or order CSIS notes?

All application are sent for security screening for a34.

Security

  • 34 (1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible on security grounds for
    • (a) engaging in an act of espionage that is against Canada or that is contrary to Canada’s interests;
    • (b) engaging in or instigating the subversion by force of any government;
    • (b.1) engaging in an act of subversion against a democratic government, institution or process as they are understood in Canada;
    • (c) engaging in terrorism;
    • (d) being a danger to the security of Canada;
    • (e) engaging in acts of violence that would or might endanger the lives or safety of persons in Canada; or
    • (f) being a member of an organization that there are reasonable grounds to believe engages, has engaged or will engage in acts referred to in paragraph (a), (b), (b.1) or (c).

The due date is not binding, it is just a system generated that reminds the officer of the pending application. The security screening process depends on whether your are inland or outland and whether you are under a comprehensive check of not.

An average security screening takes 110 days. Calling IRCC will not help as they cannot get your any updates from CBSA or CSIS. You will have to wait until the processs is over. All IRCC on the call can say that your security screening is complete or not.
