Security Clearance

Hi everyone

I have submit my passport Nov2nd for TRV (Returning student) study permit expires Mar31 in 2 days

2 weeks ago, VO told me my passport will be finalize next week, the week after they asked me to submit additional payments to make the application a study permit application ($50)

I submit the addition payment right a way

yesterday they told me they are waiting for security clearance from Canada

So what is really going on with my applications ?

their response before was still under processing now they are waiting for clearance, does that mean they have reached final step ?

any thoughts ?
