Maybe ask the Government of Canada department you are thinking of as opposed to a public forum ?

Yes, you will be asked for additional info, status related and 10 years traceable history back home, since you won't have Canadian one, but other than that, no problem.

My company has applied for myself, Level II - Secret, with the federal government, and I already hold a Site Access Security Clearance, from CNSC (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission), for a major provincial agency.

They will do all the necessary checks, RCMP, CSIS, CPIC.

Hi Everyone,

I got job offer and my position requires secret level security clearance. I'm living in Canada since last 7 years. I'm on work permit right now. Am I eligible for security clearance? or I must be permanent resident or citizen to apply,. Thanks

Hi Everyone,

I’ve lived in Canada for only past 6 years and a Permanent Resident from past two years.
I have been offered a job which is conditional on successful Security Clearance ( Secret Level 2)
As I don’t have 10 years of verifiable information in Canada, Can my prospective employer withdraw the offer or Am I still eligible to be considered to apply for my Security Clearance.
Employer is going to apply for my secret clearance.
You should be asking the potential employer
It’s up to them . People on here can say “
Sure it won’t be a problem “, which I’m sure they’ll say , but that’s irrelevant, it’s up to the employer
