Dear All,
I need some help and advise with regards to my mother's visitor visa application, which was refused yesterday. This was 2nd time refusal for my mother. Earlier back in 2015, her visa was refused, at that time my maternal uncle ( my mother's real brother) was sponsor. This time I was the sponsor.
Earlier this year, my father passed away in my home country, after I came to Canada and I am the only child of my mother, Currently my mother is living with her parents in her home country and looking after my father's business. I came to Canada as student in January this year, I was looking to spend sometime with my mother during Christmas holidays, which I mentioned in invitation letter, We asked only for 3 weeks visa approval as she had to return back to continue business. But in refusal letter they mentioned -
1. Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself - My mother showed approx. $ 25,000 in bank account and $ 15,000 fixed deposit, So I am not sure if this much fund still not sufficient for 3 weeks travel ?
2. You have significant ties to Canada - I am currently on student visa and staying with my maternal uncle ( my mother's real brother) at his house. I am not sure what explanation should we give for this, if we submit new application in future ?
3. You do not have significant family ties outside Canada - I am the only child of my parents, currently my mother has her parents in her home town ( though we did not mention this in application) but no in-laws or their family, We showed 2 residential property to her name and her business income through CA valuation report, What else can we show for family ties outside Canada for future applications ?
4. The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent given the details with temporary stay given the details provided in application - I mentioned the purpose of visit to spend short time together during Christmas break which is ideal for family union, specially after my father passed away. Though we did not show any travel insurance or flight tickets etc.
We are very stressed due to this 2nd refusal and not sure what else to do. I do agree my mother has weak family ties back home, no travel history etc, but she is running my father's business for past few months. How long shall we wait before preparing new application again ? ..Shall we order GCMS notes ?...I will finish my diploma next year in Summer at university, so shall I wait until then to submit new application ? .....Had it been better if my maternal uncle became sponsor instead myself since I am staying with him ?
Thank you again
