Hello, I have applied for for student visa on March 1st with dependent spouse and a year old daughter for may intake. Got biometric and medical approved for all of us on 22nd after that no update. Anyone applied on the same time line faced similar issue. I went through some threads here and I know it’s extremely random now. Still I just wonder whether they are giving SOWP and SDS together now. SP now and SOWP after some months .?

IMHO, they still could give SP and SOWP together but it would depend on:
(1) Profiles of SP and SOWP such as: Education level; IELTS; Chosen course of SP
(2) Financial condition
(3) Strong SOP

Yes.. why not. When I did my research before applying what I found was its better to apply together (especially when you have a wee child). The paper work is less compared to applying after student get their SP, also whole family can go together. Though applying together could make your application's processing time a bit longer (like mine). Most of the agencies not entertaining this.. they say there are some risks like if there is any issue with dependents visa application student's visa could also get rejected, but I am not sure about that. They also say the case worker could think you are moving there not just to study and it could also cause to reject.
I applied with 4 kids but without my spouse. He was away working around the time I was submitting my application and therefore could not get most of the documents I require for him. Moreover, he wouldn't have been able to go with us (my original intake was for May 2021) as he's got unavoidable work commitments till July 2021.
My SPs and the SPs/TRVs for all 5 of us were approved at the same time (according to GCMS notes 3 weeks after medical passed). I'm not sure if it would have been different if my husband was also included in the application, being an adult dependent.

Yes, that's the most we concern about, making our home-country ties weaker, as well as VO might think we have the purpose of immigrating instead of studying.
