SDS Applicant for 1 year program

Hi!

My friend is an SDS applicant for a 2 year program, so his 1st year is already paid. Because of COVID, he now has insufficient funds to pay for his 2nd year in post secondary. I told him to do one year instead so he can already work and earn, he told me his agent said SDS applicants are not eligible for one year program. Is this true?

Hoping to hear from you guys. Thanks. He is now in Canada btw and is almost done with his 1st year, he's about to do his coop.
