Feeling weirdly paranoid (as I'm sure is natural) about the evidence I should I include in my app.

We've got the usual: photos, joint bank account, joint health insurance, joint bills, listed as beneficiaries, old hand written letters, wedding invites, wedding guestlist, receipt of payment to the commissioner (only one i could find), relationship timeline, current rental lease and joint bond agreement.

I've included screenshots of my email account showing the numerous emails sent to me by my spouse from different periods of time and a note saying "if CIC want me to forward them copies of the contents of each email I'd be more than happy to".

The main thing I'm worried about is I've not included enough and they'll ask for more later (such as proof of continued correspondence - the emails are all from 2013 and back - we only talk by text these days and most of the time by facebook messenger? should I include this or not? Just copy and paste straight out of facebook/email? or screenshots?)

Any input greatly appreciated

Send them screenshots.Bombard them with as much as information as you can. There is no harm in providing more but sure is in providing less :)
Good Luck

You don't need to include any communication proofs and they will not request any such proofs from you. CIC may be obtuse sometimes but they do know that people who live together communicate in person. I wouldn't even bother with the email screenshots.

My partner and I included none of that. For any communication questions in the app, we put "We live together". No issues.

Bad advice and completely unnecessary.

This is kinda what i figured. Just wanted to show that we do communicate and thought showing my inbox would be a bit helpful.

Think the other proof will suffice? Comes to about 60 pages in total.

Yes, your other proofs are more than enough.

A couple I know had to go through a marriage interview recently and they were told that pictures/letters are not considered the most important evidence as they can be taken at any time. What they are looking for are joint accounts, life insurance naming each other as beneficiaries etc. As long as you have that you are okay. There is no harm in sending lots of pictures and other evidence, but they would only ask to see proof of communication if you were living in different countries.

In my opinion, photos and documentary evidences of conversations are IMPORTANT. Why? In the first place, why would they put it in the application forms/requirements?

Of course, joint bank accounts, bills showing same address, insurance, property, and other documents similar to this would have a bigger impact BUT for couples who are not rich or living together, will have a hard time providing this documents.

"Bombard them with as much as information as you can." - WRONG. What if you are together for five years? Can you imagine how much paper will you have for submission? It's a rim!

They want to see that the relationship is REAL and it is not marriage for immigration sake. It can be proven by providing documents that will show that the relationship was known my many, shows commitment to each other, and the development from this year to that year.

Thanks for the info guys.

Secondly i agree with most here.

I also think the forms are generic and therefore what they ask for depends on the situation. Ive lived with my spouse since we started dating which i said on the forms. Therefore things like joint cohabitation and photos are more important.

Thats what i get from it.
