Are PRs entering Canada screened for COVID-19? If so, what are the restrictions?

Depends where you are coming from. Many flights from Italy are being cancelled. Some schools or employers are asking for people to self-isolate for 14 days after international travel. Some are self-isolating themselves no matter what to protect others.

Did you or your family get PRTD after such a long absence?

PRTD is still under process.

See Trudeau just announced they are looking at restricting international flights to 2 yet to be named airports AND international arrivals to self isolate for 14 days on arrival. Going to complicate soft landings And travel for some time

People flying internationally need to be prepared to quarantine for 14 so ifdoung a soft landing consider flying back right away and not leaving the airport. The situation is very fluid.

Agreed as countries seem to be making things up as the situation develops. Apart from the isolation the main challenge for some may be which airports they chose, could guess at Vancouver and Toronto given international traffic but only a guess.

Returning same day without leaving the airport might also be a challenge if considered exiting customs and checking in again in departures would be accepted as not a country entry given mixing with people in departures some travelling some not so nothing is straight forward .

Not sure that choice of airport in Canada will make any difference.

Meant which two airports the government choses to restrict international arrivals to which is what Trudeau implied earlier. Travellers will only get 2 choices To land in Canada so that screening can have some focus/control

Most international flights already arrive in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Is it possible to leave on the next flight without leaving the airport?

Is it possible to leave on the next flight without leaving the airport?

Yes - however you do have to go through customs / immigration to land.

Our family are all PRs, and have been physically living in Canada since 2016. My wife had to go to India couple of weeks back due to a family emergency, and is scheduled to land back in Toronto Pearson on Sunday morning. She is flying direct on Air Canada from Mumbai.

Canada just announced it is closing its borders to visitors, and only citizens and PRs will be permitted to enter. As PRs we appear to be fine for now, but Sunday feels like a long way off. Very concerned with the pace at which travel restrictions are widening.
