A very good day to everybody,

I have been for the past many days conducting research on the most suitable option to carry my funds to Canada. I have almost made my mind to convert all my currency in demand draft and finally open a bank account in Canada upon my arrival.

Although, the above mentioned option is the most preferred but during my research i came across with the scheme of opening bank account with Scotia bank from India itself with only the drawback of getting the account activated by visiting one of the branch office physically in Canada.

Now at this juncture, iam in a dicey position as the option of getting the account opened right from India seems to be a decent deal but iam not sure whether the bank account details or the statement would be enough to convince the immigration officer at the time of entry at Canada airport and also the availability of Scotia Bank in Canada (Toronto).

Last but not the least, iam also curious on the feedback of the services of Scotia Bank in India and the general services so as to be in the right position to take the final call on the good to be true deal.

I would appreciate if someone could share their personal experience with Scotia Bank (India) and also any other valuable inputs on the above mentioned queries.

Thanks very much.

Regards,
Adamstan

Either way should be fine.
I have not yet opened the account with Scotia (apparently it can be done totally online without physically going to the office)
The couple of advantages which I thought were:
- no need to carry a huge travellers cheque or DD
- will provide u a Credit card on landing

Am sure the immigration officer will accept the funds transfer proof - in fact it is mentioned in their Start Right web page

yes, proof of funds in a canadian account are proof of funds. Also, this isn't a very big issue - this proof of funds thing. It isn't a mandatory check by the CBSA. It isn't like this is your visa to enter the country.

It is a requirement. A CBSA officer will verify that you meet the terms of your visa on landing.
