Did anyone opened an account in Scotia bank , not for GIC but just as normal international account ?

I inquired scotio bank, they have international student account.. but it required student permit copy, may take 25-30 working days for the account get active..

I heard that it doesn't take much time to open international student account while in India,and will take atleast of 2 weeks to get welcome kit ,and after reaching Canada we should go to concerned branch and make our account active. And only one wire transfer is allowed untill it becomes active .. Is this whole thing is right, because I'm not sure about this ?

your are right of their points, except the duration. they told me 25-30 days to receive my welcome kit. and only i can deposit the money once..

my visa under process, not yet decided what to do, if positive result if am i get delayed am not going to apply for account.. i will carry travelers cheque. thats enough

PP reached CHC on 3rd Dec and is under processing, I handed over my documents to Canam Hyd on Nov 23rd, it was passed to Canam Chd and from there it went to CHC via vfs , A very big route map...
don't know whats gona happen with my application ..
