Hi guys, I have submitted my expression of interest on 14th Feb and my score is 397. Looking at the current declining trend of the score, should I keep any hopes alive or go for IELTS improvement? Thanks

I am 393 and not sure if it will go down there. Maybe experienced people in this forum may set a light

Improve your language scores. Nobody can predict the trend of points dropping.

Difficult with less than 400 points, better try to improve the IELTS score, at least to be above 400.

Any way to find three more points? You may qualify for OINP then which is a quasi automatic way to a PR

CRS is currently lower than it's ever been. Don't expect it to do below 400 though.

Just curious, why do you think it will not go below 400. I mean for sure no one can predict but why ppl are so sure that it will not go below 400 when it is just about 34 points up and we are already expecting it might go in 420s this time. So why it will never be able to cross this 20-30 points hurdle in 1 year?

I submitted my application on 14th Feb 2017 and I still have more than 11 months, I was actually thinking to look at the trend for coming few months and if I don't see it touching 397, I could try to improve ielts in May/June or even few months later. Is it a good enough approach or I should take ielts asap. I am not in hurry to move to Canada bcz I am working at the moment and its giving me experience.

I am also talking to a company back in Canada who might want to hire me. They are in a related business and I told them I am planning to immigrate to Canada. I sent them my CV and they said they would like to interview me when I arrive Canada. I told them I don't seem to have enough points and I might need an offer before I move to Canada so if possible, we can have a skype interview or I can visit them on visit visa if they want and they said we can have a skype interview next week although they also said that they cannot confirm if they will be able to hire me before I arrive Canada but they agreed for a skype interview, so I was also thinking to hold my ielts improvements for few months and see the outcome for this company.

Another company whom i sent my CV few months earlier replied that I have been shortlisted but after that I never heard back from them. Any suggestion what could I do for this?

Since January 2017, there are 3000+ invites being issued each draw and this is why the points are dropping. If CIC decreases the number of ITAs, the score wont drop at such a fast rate, thereby reaching 397. Nobody can predict how many invitations will be issued in the future. We can only hope that the invites increase and the cut off drops.

PNPs were opened in February so in a few months time, people who had lower scores will get 600 points and the cut off will go high again.

You can either choose to wait in the pool for something to happen or work towards improving your score and get the ITA sooner. This depends on personal choice and how soon you want to get to Canada.

Regd your job offer, if the job has LMIA, it will give you 50 points and this will bump up your score. LMIA is a long process and expensive for the employer. Are you prepared to wait that long?

If you never heard back from the company you were shortlisted, IMO it means they have selected someone else for the job.

You are only going to get older and your points will only decrease gradually. Why wait for that to happen?

Yes, however, PNPs account for a very small percentage of all EE profiles, almost certainly less than 5% this year. I do not foresee a handful of PNPs significantly driving up the CRS cutoff as long as IRCC continues to fulfill the majority of the PR quota from EE.
