i am starting school on january and i got my visa a week ago. I would really like to travel to canada to spend the christmas holidays in toronto with a family member before school reopens on january The school is in New Brunswick but am wondering whether they would grant me a pass to enter toronto or they would ask me why i am coming at this time. There will be No problem, they want students to come as early as possible so that students can settle themselves.

I don't think they will ask you but if they did for whatever reason give them the truth about what you have. Bare in mind they won't allow you to bring more than $10000 in cash with you so just be careful. Good luck in your study

Yes a 1000$ will be enough, it all depends on how you spend it... have a safe trip mate
