Hello
Please can anyone guide me regarding what is the last deadline (month) for public school admissions (high school,Grade 10) in Toronto? As here in India the academic year ends in March so if my child comes in April, will he be able to get admission or need to wait for September?

Thanks a lot in advance for helping new immigrants.
Regards.

He will need to wait until september. April is too late and school year ends in June.

Thanks for reply.
any idea if any bridging classes or English classes are available for new students to cope up easily in summers. what is the fee structure for those extra classes.any link will be great.
Regards

He maybe able to find private institutions for the summer vacations. It will cost more money. It would probably be recommended to just get admission first in a high school. Unless he really wants to take summer courses. Could be anywhere from 300 to 500 cad.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
I hope getting admission is a smooth process for PR holders and schooling is completely free in Canada.
any specific points to be noted before taking admission or how to select a school? School helps students in settling down or by giving some after school coaching etc?
Regards

Yes, it is quite easy to be admitted into the schooling sector.

Unfortunately, schooling is not completely free, the parents have to pay for fees and books. (Its alot less compared to international students)

You can search on net for schools in your area and there critiques.

Integrating in a school sector for a teenager is the sole responsibility of the teen him/herself. The school will show the basics and the teen shall learn as time roles.
