I am a new entrant to this forum.
I will be moving to Mississauga, Ontario around 8th January 2017 with family (I know..not the best time to move :-[)
My son will be turning 11 years on 16th Jan 2017. I need your guidance to get him to a right school (public school). If you can address following queries, I will be highly obliged:
1. Since he will be turning 11 on 16th Jan 2017, can he be eligible for 6th Grade, instead of 5th grade? If there is any option of grade assessment to determine whether he can get admission in grade 6?
2. Are there any elementary schools in Mississauga which continue till grade 8? So far, I came across all schools which are till Grade 5. This implies that he will have to change the school again to go to a middle school. I am deeply concerned that we will have to change multiple schools which will be difficult for him. Please help if you are aware about any school which offers till Grade 8.
My biggest worry is that my son will be joining school by February 2017 (mid of session) in Grade 5. Then after few months, he will have to change the school again for middle school. Also, due to which, I am not able to finalise where I should look for accommodation.
Any guidance on this matter will be highly appreciated.
