Hey guys, a simply question:
My wife who's going to be my sponsor, is studying with scholarship paid by the bank and at the end of the course she will payback in 5 years.
Is she elegible to be my sponsor?

she just can't be on welfare. it doesn't matter what other loans or debts she has. so yes, she's eligible.

Oh that's good news!
Thanks a lot!
I just asked 'cuz I didn't understood this:
"get government financial help for reasons other than being disabled," (on CIC's website).

sounds like you wife got a student loan from the bank. they aren't classified as govt assistance. it's different. even govt student loan would qualify her to be a sponsor. govt assistance is money that the receiver doesn't need to pay back or not collected directly from the receiver.

understandable. CIC can sometimes be confusing with their wording. but basically, you have nothing to worry about...it doesn't apply to students. it applies to anyone who is capable of working but receives welfare cheques to help pay bills and doesn't need to pay it back. I sponsored by husband without an issue and I also have student debt from my college years which was from OSAP too, not a bank. good luck :)

Yeah, it's just because the government says "ok" for the bank. That's the reason I was confused.
Hope they don't ask about "how we're going to live".
Her parents will help us at first and she start working in july/2015.

you can always include a letter from your in-laws which says they are going to support you until she's done school, or whatever the case may be. many add something like that with their application when the living situation seems unclear. it won't hurt to include and this way you have that covered incase CIC is concerned.

Really?
How should they do this letter?
They write on a computer and sign?

yes, definitely that should be enough. for my husband's application, we had family & friends type up letters that attested to the genuineness of our relationship, just in case. I had them put their names, address and phone numbers and then sign. my husband and I also included a short letter we wrote ourselves discussing what our plans were for living in Canada. if you have things you want to explain that don't fit on the application forms, it's okay to include extra sheets.
