If there is a question that asks have you ever been denied entry or refused a visa to ANY country then you should always tell the truth.

Im not sure if the Schengen visa has that question or not, if there is no such question I wouldn't openly tell them about it. But if they ask in form then 100% declare.

Yes. If you don't, you will be committing misrepresentation and they can ban you as well. Never lie on visa forms.

No, my tourist visa was denied .

Congrats and hope you will get that, I am in Canada now ( got the visa in second attempt in same month after addressing the issue)
