Schedule A - Signature by hand

Hello everyone,

I just learnt that the PA needs to sign on Schedule A by hand next to the electronic signature, which I can't remember if we did or not. Our inland application was delivered on Sep 12, 2018, and we still haven't received our AOR yet so there is a chance that we did not sign on it.
Also, I see lots of people submitted their Schedule A by online later in the process when CIC requested it; however, the Application Guide says Schedule A must be submitted together with the initial application. So my questions are:

1. Did CIC accepted your paper application without hand-signature on Schedule A and requested it by online afterwards?
2. What's the difference between attaching Schedule A with the initial application and submitting it online later in the process and why?
3. Has anyone had their application returned because of it?

I made the same error on mine...i am hoping it isnt returned but application was received on July 19th - no AoR. My file was opened atleast a month ago...spoke to an agent last week who said file looks complete but final confirmation needs to come from Sydney office. They said its up to each officer if they accept or return in case of missing signature. Hoping for some mercy as its almost 3 months...long time to be wasted...

Wow that's for sure a long time to wait and waste if they end up returning yours! Did you do Inland or Outland? Are you able to check your eCAS and what does it say there?
My wife's current status in Canada is expiring in the beginning of November. So we are thinking of applying for a Visitors Visa for the meantime.

Maybe it was the case in the past but I still see it on some recent applicants' timeline that CIC requested Schedule A later in the process.
Does anyone have an idea why there are 2 different cases?
