I received a Schedule A (IMM 5669) request letter this morning in my cic account. I submitted it few hours later. Also, I already passed my medical exam. What is the next step? Is PPR very close now?

Are you Express entry? This section is for PNP paper based stream candidates. I just thought would mention since you would have better luck with accurate responses there.

I am a PNP paper based applicant and also an Express entry CEC applicant. I have two applications currently.

I received my AINP nomination in Dec 2016, submitted my paper based application in Jan 2017, received my AOR in Mar 2017, received a generic reminder email in June 2017, then received a request letter in my account this morning. I saw my medical passed already since I did upfront medical for my EE application.

You received a schedule A request letter too recently, am I right? When did you receive the letter?

Gotcha. I didnt mean to be rude at all confirming you werent EE. I have same timeline as you. Since you submitted yours upfront, the next step for you would be background goes in process and PPR. Its anywhere from 2-5 months depending on how extent of bc on your file.
