Hi,

I sent my conjugal application last May 16 2018 with Schedule A upfront and I made a mistake and the PA didn't signed the paper by handwritten and I saw this at the checklist

"IMPORTANT: For this form to be accepted as a part of the application, each person is required to complete it must a.) type their name in the signature box, b) validate the form, c) print out the form and d) SIGN IN WRITING (i.e provide a handwritten signature) next to the type written name in the signature box.

If you do not follow these instructions, the form will not be accepted and the entire application will be returned"

This was entirely my fault for not checking the papers again. Will they return the whole application or just ask us to upload the Schedule A? i saw in the thread in the notes there that some people were just asked to upload Schedule A.

please help. I am freaking out right now and I'm scared that my application will be returned. thank you for all your help.

The instructions on the Signature are kind of confusing for IMM5669 form,.........

In the Sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner Guide.......the instruction is to sign by hand;

Authority to disclose personal information
Declaration of applicant

Read all of the statements in all sections carefully.

You must do the following when submitting a paper version of the form with your initial application:
  • In the signature section, type the name of the person for whom the form is being filled out. Also enter the date that the form is being filled out.
  • Validate the form.
  • Print the form.
  • Sign your name by hand. (Note: For principal applicants under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the form on the dependent child’s behalf.)

In the Authority to disclose personal information section of the IMM5669 form itself.......the instruction is "I agree that by typing my name, i am electronically signing my application".

I may be wrong........but i think the instruction of the form, which allows the PA to sign the form by typing their name will be acceptable.

If the PA types their name in the form.........I personally won't freak out for this and won't do anything about it.........i could remember not hand signing this form but only types the PA name when i sent my sponsorship application.

You sent in your form around May 16th, which is 2 weeks ago.......and it takes 6 to 8 weeks for IRCC Mississauga to send AOR1........so if you want to ease your worries, maybe you could ask the PA to hand sign the form.......and you mail the hand signed IMM5669 to IRCC Mississauga.........when you send the form to IRCC.......include a copy of the sponsorship payment receipt is it may help IRCC sort and include the form in your application package.

Good Luck.

hi,

Thanks for your reply. That is why I'm confused about it cause it says there "I agree that by typing my name, I am electronically signing my application" that's why I thought that it should be fine but then I checked the checklist and it says there it needs to have handwritten signature too. And it states there that the form will not be accepted and the entire application will be returned. Will they really return it for that reason alone? Sorry if I may sound ignorant. I'm just really worried about this and I know it is very hard to prove same sex conjugal application. I'm trying my very best to get my girlfriend here.

What do you recommend? Should I wait for the AOR first or send the IMM 5669 again now with the PA signature?

thank you

Hi there,

So I did the same mistake and only typed my name in that form, sent the application in May and just got it back in the mail, back to square one. Quite frustrating as the instruction is quite misleading since the form states that typing the name is an electronic signature.

Hi,

Im so sorry to hear that. In regards to my application, they did not send it back. We already had our medicals done and we passed. Also we got sponsorship approval and my application is in my local visa now. We are just waiting for background check. Im sorry to hear about your application. we got lucky with the officer and they did not send it back.

Did they accept your schedule A with an electronic signature?

It seems people also can upload new or revised Schedule A documents sometimes. I wonder how that works if the signature is required - IRCC will still accept that in scanned form? We have to change our Schedule A due to an error and I'm now trying to figure out best way to send it.
