Can you travel between writing your exam and taking oath?. When are existing (non-canada) passports collected?
If you already have oath date and your travel - departure and return - is before the scheduled oath date, then you are okay

If your status says Decision Made but you don't have oath date and must travel then use WEB Form to inform IRCC and have them schedule the oath after your return date.

IRCC does not collect "non-Canada" passport but they will collect your PR Card during oath ceremony.

Given that it will be months between test and oath, if you're travelling soon after your test for a short period of time, I wouldn't contact IRCC about your plans. They don't collect passports. They will collect your PR card, if you have one, at the ceremony.

Hi there, anyone who wrote the test on May 23rd in Scarborough and has received the call for Oath ceremony? Reading this forum, it seems it may take 5 months for Scarborough candidates.

Thanks!

We took the test Aug 2 in Scarborough and decision made 2 days after. Still waiting for the oath taking. I called the immigration and followed up and said all is cleared and all we are just waiting is for the schedule. However we are going away on end of December till January and I informed them that I am unavailable if in case they schedule me around those dates. They said better to keep my unavailability on their file either they can schedule me earlier or after my trip. Hoping they can schedule me before so I can change my passport before I travel.
During the interview they said the oath taking will happen anytime between Sept and March. Hope they can do something for the delay, looks like they have so much backlog in Scarborough location.
Anyone on the same timeline I have?

Hi guys,

Took the citizenship test on 31st July and online it says decision made. I would really appreciate if someone can provide information on the following.
1- When should I expect the invitation to oath ceremony. Any time range.
2- What is the time between receiving the oath ceremony invitation and the actual ceremony.
3- I have an Indian passport. Do I need to surrender immediately or can I travel on it for sometime (I need to be in India in January to attend a wedding?
4- If I postpone my Oath ceremony, when can I expect to receive the next invite?
5- How long does it take to receive a Canadian passport after the ceremony.

Thanks in advance guys!
