Did any one rescheduled their oath ceremony recently. Mine is on a day that I won't be available. How long is the wait and do they offer you a date before they cancel it ?
 
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 21, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canadaon February 2, 2018.
  3. We started processing your application on February 15, 2018.
  4. We sent you a notice on September 5, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on September 25, 2018 at 11:50 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
  5. We sent you a notice on November 19, 2018 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on December 12, 2018 at 8:30 AM. The notice you will receive will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
  6. You became a Canadian citizen on December 12, 2018.

I thought about rescheduling and did the research. As long as you have a very valid reason and if you are sure that the officer is going to accept it without doubt, then the reschedule date will be sooner may be in a month or two. But by any chance if the officer feels you deliberately doing it or not interested then there is a chance of new date being delayed.
Btw I postponed my trip and taken the oath, just wanted to get over with it.
 
I just receive invite for ceremony for January 3rd.

Congrats. My Oath ceremony is on the same date as well.

I called them. They checked and said that the application is recommended for ceremony. As soon as they find a spot, they'll update online. So asked me to check online status couple of times a week. Other than that, there's nothing else to do.

Well, that's good news, at least you know there's nothing wrong and it's just a matter of a few more weeks.
We need to be extra patient, they received a huge influx of applications, it's no surprise they have a back log...
