My PR is going to be valid only for 2 months and I still have not gotten my oath invitation (it has passed 12 months). What would happen if I don't receive the oath by validity of my PR card? Can that become an excuse to accelerate the process?

Hi,
if you don't have any travel planes, you don't need a valid PR card. Your PR status is not tied with the PR card validity (you are still permanent resident even with your expired PR card).
No excuse to accelerate the process due to the short PR card validity.

My timeline so far...

9-Feb-2018 Mailed application
12-Feb-2018 Application delivered
12-Mar-2018 AOR
03-May-2018 In Process
31-May-2018 FP requested
28-Jun-2018 FP done
19-Aug-2018 Test invite
13-Sep-2018 Test/interview date (passed)
28-Sep-2018 Decision Made

During my interview, they couldn't confirm my entry/exit since I traveled many times to the US through car and they not always stamped my PP. At the time, they didn't request anything else but I'm thinking since the FOIA takes 3 months roughly should I go ahead and request one? Does anyone here had to submit the entry/exit history for the US?

Finally I can join this thread. After 13+ months long wait, I took the test yesterday and ECAS changed to decision made today. Hopefully it won't take long to get the oath invitation.

Passing more than 12 months gives you a good excuse to ask them to expedite the matter. May be they will consider the situation and add you on an open slot. No harm to try!

One thing that is worth accepting is - to come to Canada was our choice - so we are at the mercy of XXX .... - now the file hibernates, waits for
chicken etc.. - we have no magic wand to move them unless someone on a bright sunny morning issues oath ...

Below is a synopsis of my cousin
Applied Nov 7 2018 (Stuart Fab on Excel List)
DM - Scarborough - Sept 27
Oath - Waiting may be how many leap years away ?????????
The person called MP office; the assistant didn't even know what oath is and took 5 minutes to pronounce the standard terms...

Agree ,I am a silent observer , applied early Nov 2017 , passed my exam& DM early Oct 2018 , already exceeded 13 months & PR expired called several times / Web requested no proper answer other than "you will hear from us in due course" .

True, but its good to call CIC as well.

Hi, Did you call them? What did they say?
Yes I called them. They told me the office is already working on adding me to the list of mid December ceremony. They said I should get an official invitation by 3rd of Dec, but If i don't get it i should call back.

I applied exactly an year back, and I havent recieved oath yet! I have decision made on my file for 2.5 months now. I have called the call centre and they say all you have to do is wait, I have no idea. Should I send a webform?
