Hi All -

An update on my situation... and a positive interaction with IRCC:

My oath was originally scheduled for July 1 in Ajax (processing office is Scarborough), but they sent me a second oath notice for July 6 at Scadding Court downtown.

I had previously notified IRCC of travel plans to the US commencing on July 9, but the fact that it was international travel got lost in the noise. A July 6 ceremony left me no time to obtain a passport for travel the following week.

Spent some time on the phone with a call centre agent who was very nice and sympathetic, but ultimately suggested that I contact IRCC through the web form and explain the situation, providing proof of travel. I did this, and 6 business days later I got a call from IRCC saying that they could move me back to the original ceremony on the 1st!

So key takeaways:

1) The web form does work
2) IRCC appears to want to do the right thing
3) IRCC will respond to time sensitive queries submitted through the web form

As for me, I will have just enough time to apply for an expedited passport which I should be able to receive on the Friday before I travel!

Good luck to all, happy waiting, and speedy processing!

-A.

Me and my wife went to the citizenship test. I passed but she failed. The officer told my wife that she has completed the interview and now she will receive the invitation of the test within 6-8 weeks and she will only be appearing in the test and there will be no need to appear in the interview as its already done.
After around a month after the test, there is a new line added to her online status which is as follows:

  1. We sent you a letter on June XX, 2018. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
What this line actually means? so far there is no invitation of the second test. Has anybody experienced the same????

You need to wait for the letter, it might be Test Invitation for your wife.

Yes, for minor applicants its normal. Could not understand about your infant child, is he/she born here?

Hello

yes, infant/child is also an applicant. However no email received for oath ceremony.

I assume this is because age is below 14 years old. , please confirm

Thanks

Its not mandatory to attend Oath Ceremony for minor applicants. You can bring him/her to oath ceremony get Citizenship certificate, otherwise as a parent CIC officials will give it to you.

Thanks, this explains why we did not receive a oath letter for the minor. really helpful.
